The Cardiff Wedding of Steve and Angela

October 25, 2019

I was first introduced to Steve and Angela by Shirley from Ty Hafan in late 2014.  They had plans to marry in the summer of 2015.  We met up at their home and talked through their plans for the day and what memories they were looking to capture.  Meeting a couple is always really important as we believe that there needs to be a connection and understanding between the photographer and the couple.  Only then it is possible to capture the best images.

Steve and Angela are two wonderful people with a lovely large family.  The brief was simple.  They wanted the photographs to be a pictorial story board of the day with a mix of formal and candid photographs.  For this wedding, there was to be one photographer and one assistant.

A few weeks prior to the wedding, we have arranged to have a pre-wedding photoshoot at the Knap near Barry in South Wales.  It was a little blustery, but we spent an hour or so walking along the pebbled sea front talking about the wedding day and casually taking photographs.  I love pre-wedding photoshoots as it gives a chance to get to know the couple and for the couple to get to know me.  You find out little things about what the couple like and don’t like and also what they love.  That hour is precious and certainly helps on the wedding day.  From the pre-wedding shoot, the couple chooses one photo that we then get mounted on card with a wide border which guests can then sign and leave messages.  It works really well.

Steve and Angela were getting married in the Church of the Resurrection in Ely in Cardiff.
